Roger and Dagni
Owners/Directors
Roger and Dagni each have a degree in Elementary Education. Additionally, Roger has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. They are very committed to working with children and have more than 40 years of camp experience. Roger and Dagni’s ability to motivate campers and staff, combined with their patience, warmth and skill in relating to campers and parents, make them a highly qualified and enthusiastic pair. They are members of the American Camp Association (ACA) and the Maine Youth Camping Association. Roger has also served as a Standards Visitor for the ACA as well as taught leadership courses at the University of Florida in the Parks, Recreation and Tourism department. Roger and Dagni have a son, Hunter, and a daughter, Taylor, who grew up at camp and are now members of the leadership team.
Drew and Crimson
Directors
Drew started with Laurel South in 2007, and Crimson joined as a staff member in 2010. Starting as counselors, they both quickly grew into various leadership positions over the years, including Campus Leaders, Head Counselors, Associate Directors, and now Directors. Camp is where they met, and now are delighted to raise their two sons as part of the Laurel South family. As Directors, they bring a wealth of experience, knowledge, and passion, having worked at Laurel South for many years and being deeply integrated with its operations and culture. Drew and Crimson are committed to continuing the Laurel South legacy of providing a nurturing, family environment for both campers and staff. They are dedicated to ensuring that everyone who comes to Laurel South has a positive and unforgettable experience to be remembered for years to come.

The Laurel South staff is mostly chosen from students, graduates and faculty from schools throughout the United States. We seek people with personality, character, stability and warmth. Our camper-to-counselor ratio is better than 3:1.
